At Transcend Addiction, we believe that no one should suffer in silence - especially not in their own home. Our mission is to help families talk openly about gambling addiction, without fear, shame, or judgment. We want these conversations to happen around the kitchen table, where honesty, love, and healing begin.
I started gambling when I was 16 and spent 12 years feeling like I couldn’t talk about it. I wish someone had opened that door for me. That’s why we’re here now-to open it for others.
By breaking the stigma and starting the conversation early, we can protect our kids, support our loved ones, and change the future. Together, we can stop addiction before it takes hold, and bring our families closer in the process.
My name is Oliver and I’m the founder of Transcend Addiction- a new initiative born from a deeply personal journey. After battling a gambling addiction for 12 years, I’ve come through the other side with a clear goal: to support others who are struggling and to help end the shame and silence that so often surrounds this addiction.
Gambling addiction is a silent struggle that affects millions, but it's often hidden behind shame, stigma and misunderstanding. We believe it is time to change that.
Too many people are suffering in silence.
Gambling addiction isn't a moral failure. It's a serious issue that deserves compassion, understanding and real support.
For many of us, money wasn’t something we talked about around the kitchen table - let alone gambling. But when we stay silent, we create shame. And when young people don’t feel safe to speak up, they carry their struggles alone.
If those conversations had started earlier, I might have felt more understood, more supported, and more able to ask for help before things spiralled.
That’s why we’re changing the story.
We start early. We go into schools, and communities to spark honest conversations about gambling, before addiction takes root. We give people the language to talk about money, addiction, and wellbeing in a real and relatable way.
By breaking the silence, we open the door to understanding.
To fund our mission, we have created Transcend athletic socks.
Head over to our Etsy page to purchase a pair and wear them with pride.
On the sole of the sock it has stitched "What have you got?"
